Why Homecoming Groups Choose Unlimited Charters

Every HS & College

Coverage at every high school and college homecoming in the country — public schools, private schools, boarding schools, D1 universities, small liberal-arts colleges. One platform, one process, one licensed chauffeur.

Book 6-8 Weeks Out

Homecoming-season vehicles book fast September through November — every regional school competes for the same fleet on the same 3-4 Saturday nights. Book early; smaller sedans and Sprinters can still get you booked 2-3 weeks out if premium buses are gone.

Licensed & Insured

Every chauffeur fully CDL-licensed with passenger endorsement, every vehicle DOT-inspected and commercially insured. Strict no-alcohol policy on all teen homecoming bookings. Certificate of insurance available for school-organized bookings.

Parent-Approved

One point of contact for the whole friend group. Parents get the driver's cell, real-time dispatch line, and a written itinerary. The bus does not depart any stop until every passenger is accounted for.

Right-Sized for Your Crew

14, 20, 22, 30, 40, 45, or 56 passengers. Premium sound system for the ride, climate control for hot September nights and chilly November ones, cargo space for jackets, dance shoes, and the pre-dance dinner leftovers.

Honest All-In Pricing

Standard 8-hour homecoming package covers pickup → game → dinner → dance → home. All-in price includes driver, fuel, insurance, gratuity, taxes. Extra hours billed at the flat hourly rate if the after-party runs long — no surprise fees.

What Is a Homecoming Charter?

A homecoming charter is a professionally chauffeured party bus, mini-coach, or motor coach reserved by a friend group (or an entire class) to move the whole crew through homecoming night as a single unit — pep rally to football game to pre-dance dinner to dance to after-party to safe drop-off at each parent's driveway. One bus, one licensed CDL chauffeur, one all-in price. Unlimited Charters has moved more than 10,000 groups since 2016; homecoming season (September through November) is one of our biggest booking windows every year, and we have direct experience with high schools, boarding schools, D1 university homecomings, and small liberal-arts college homecoming weekends in every state.

The point is not the vehicle. The point is that no teenager drives on homecoming night, no friend gets left behind, no parent stays up until 2am, and the whole memory happens together.

Why Groups Book Charter Transportation for Homecoming

Safety first — nobody drives. Homecoming is a night when new drivers on unfamiliar routes at night in high-traffic areas around football stadiums and dance venues are exactly the highest-risk driving conditions we ask teens to navigate. A licensed CDL chauffeur eliminates the whole risk category. Every parent in the group sleeps.

The friend group stays together. The alternative — 6 cars split across 20 friends, some running late, some getting lost, some peeling off to a different pre-party — turns homecoming into a logistics headache. A party bus is one address, one departure time, and everyone arrives at the dance together and in-frame for the group photo.

Per-person math works. 20 friends splitting a $1,900 20-pax party bus = $95/person for 8 hours of chauffeured transportation. The same route with rideshares (pickup + to game + to dinner + to dance + to after-party + home) runs $150-200/person, arrives at the dance across 6 separate cars over 25 minutes, and leaves 4 friends stranded when their driver cancels.

Parents love it. One booking, one contract signed by the organizing parent, one point of contact (the driver's cell), one written itinerary shared with every parent. Nobody is chauffeuring; nobody is worrying.

Homecoming Vehicle Sizes — Which to Book

  • 10-14 passengers — Executive Sprinter: Close friend group of 10-12. Best for small friend groups; feels intimate, still has sound system.
  • 20-24 passengers — 20 or 22-pax party bus: Junior or senior class friend group. The most-booked size for high school homecoming.
  • 30 passengers — 30-pax party bus: Full senior-class friend group with dates. Great for the “everyone we care about” trip.
  • 36-45 passengers — Mini-coach or larger party bus: Two friend groups combining, small graduating class going in as one.
  • 56 passengers — Motor coach: Whole grade, or full college alumni weekend group. Cheapest per-person option; cargo hold for jackets, shoes, gear.

Not sure what size to book? Give us the total group size and pickup addresses; dispatch will recommend the right vehicle based on capacity, budget, and route complexity.

How Much Does a Homecoming Charter Cost?

Typical all-in 8-hour homecoming package pricing (varies by metro):

  • 14-passenger executive Sprinter: $1,300-$1,900
  • 20-passenger party bus: $1,700-$2,400 (most-booked size for HS homecoming)
  • 30-passenger party bus: $2,200-$3,000
  • 40-passenger mini-coach: $2,600-$3,300
  • 56-passenger motor coach: $2,300-$3,100 (best per-person math)

Three biggest pricing variables: metro (NYC/SF/LA premium; secondary markets 20-30% lower), date (top Saturday nights in October run higher; mid-week homecomings can drop 15-20%), and lead time (booking 8+ weeks out beats booking 2 weeks out).

All-in pricing includes: professional CDL chauffeur, fuel, insurance, standard 18% gratuity, and all taxes. No surprise fees at the end of the night.

Per-person math: a 30-person group splitting a $2,600 30-pax party bus pays $87/person — usually cheaper than Ubers both ways, way cheaper than any parent's peace of mind is worth.

Homecoming Booking Timeline

  1. 10-12 weeks out — Talk to the friend group. Confirm who's in, get commitments, get the parent point-of-contact identified. This is the hardest step; the booking is easy once you know your headcount.
  2. 8-10 weeks out — Submit the quote form. Give us your school, homecoming date, headcount, and rough pickup ZIP. We send itemized pricing within a business day.
  3. 6-8 weeks out — Confirm and pay deposit. Parent signs the booking contract, deposit locks in the vehicle. This is the sweet spot for premium vehicles in top metros.
  4. 2-3 weeks out — Finalize the itinerary. Send us the pickup order (which house first), the game location, the dance venue, and the drop-off addresses. We build the route.
  5. 48 hours out — Driver confirmation. You get the driver's name, cell number, and vehicle photo. Parents are cc'd on the itinerary.
  6. Homecoming night — Driver arrives 15 min early. First pickup house on schedule. Every subsequent pickup gets a 5-minute-out text to the parent's phone.

Can you book 2-3 weeks out? Yes — smaller vehicles (Sprinters, sedans, 15-pax buses) usually still have availability. Larger premium buses may already be gone in your market. Call dispatch to check.

Multi-Stop Homecoming Routes

Almost every homecoming booking is multi-stop. A typical route:

  1. 5:30pm — First pickup at the organizing family's house (usually the parent point-of-contact)
  2. 5:45-6:15pm — 3-6 additional home pickups in the same neighborhood
  3. 6:30pm — Arrive at the football game / stadium; group walks in for kickoff
  4. 9:00pm — Post-game pickup, drive to pre-dance dinner spot (steakhouse, group-friendly restaurant, or family's home)
  5. 10:00pm — Arrive at the dance venue (school gym, banquet hall, hotel ballroom)
  6. 12:00am — Dance ends; group boards for optional after-party or straight-home drop-offs
  7. 12:30-1:00am — Individual home drop-offs in reverse pickup order

The route above fits inside the standard 8-hour package. If you're adding a post-midnight after-party (bowling alley, diner, someone's basement), extend to 9-10 hours at booking so the driver isn't ending mid-route.

Bus does not depart any stop until every scheduled passenger is on board. Dispatch has a live line to the driver all night; if a parent needs to reach the group, call the driver's cell first, dispatch second.

Why a Homecoming Party Bus Beats the Alternatives

vs. teens driving themselves: New drivers, night, unfamiliar routes, high traffic around the venue. Every homecoming parent has heard the horror story. A CDL chauffeur eliminates the risk entirely.

vs. rideshares: 20 friends across 6 cars, arrival times scattered across 25 minutes, half the group stranded when a driver cancels the pickup. Total per-person cost with rideshares is actually higher than a shared party bus, and nobody arrives at the dance together for the group photo.

vs. one parent driving a 15-passenger van: Legal-liability issues, one parent stuck sober-driving all night, no room for the full group, and one bad accident away from a lawsuit against that parent's personal auto insurance. A commercial charter carries commercial insurance and a CDL-licensed pro.

vs. school-organized transportation: Only works if the school offers it and your friend group is on the manifest. Most homecoming friend groups build their own itinerary — dinner spot, after-party stop, individual drop-off addresses — that no school-organized bus can accommodate.

Common Questions About Homecoming Transportation

Everything parents and homecoming organizers ask before booking the bus.

What size bus works for a homecoming group of 30?
A 30-passenger party bus is exactly what most senior-class friend groups book. It seats the full group comfortably with room for jackets, dance shoes, and the pre-dance dinner spillover. If your group is 20-24, book a 22 or 24-pax party bus; if you're combining two friend groups at 35-40, jump to a 40-pax mini-coach; if the whole grade is going in, a 56-pax motor coach still splits cheaper per person than any smaller option.
Do parents need to sign a contract for a teen homecoming booking?
Yes — for any booking where the primary passengers are under 18, we require a parent or guardian to be the booking contract signer and payment holder. This gives parents (not students) full authority to modify the itinerary, receive the driver's cell number, and be the point of contact for dispatch on the night. Students never sign the contract.
Can we do multiple pickup stops for the friend group?
Absolutely — most homecoming bookings have 3-6 pickup stops. We build the route based on the addresses you provide, group them geographically for efficiency, and the driver arrives at each home in the pre-agreed 10-minute window. Parents get a text when the bus is 5 minutes out from their driveway.
How long can we book the bus for on homecoming night?
Standard homecoming package = 8 hours, which typically covers 6pm pickup → game (kickoff usually 7pm) → 9pm pre-dance dinner → 10pm arrival at dance → midnight dance-end → 1am final drop-offs at homes. If your after-party runs to 2am, add a 9th hour at booking; if you're skipping the football game and just doing pre-dinner + dance + after-party, a 5-hour package works. Extra time billed at the flat hourly rate.
Can we decorate the inside of the bus for homecoming?
Yes — streamers, balloons, LED strip lights, school-color banners all welcome. We do ask no confetti, no glitter (impossible to clean out of upholstery — a cleaning fee applies), and no adhesive stickers on the leather or ceiling. Take pictures, then take the decorations with you at the final drop-off — the next group boards behind you.
What's the alcohol policy for teen homecoming bookings?
Strictly no alcohol on any booking with under-21 passengers. Our chauffeurs are trained to check at boarding, at every stop, and to end the trip early if alcohol is found on board — with no refund. This isn't optional; it protects the students, our drivers' CDLs, and the entire booking. This is also what makes homecoming parents comfortable putting the whole friend group on one vehicle. Adult homecoming bookings (college alumni weekend, faculty-adult events) can BYOB.
How far in advance should we book?
For premium party buses on a homecoming Saturday: 6-8 weeks. For 30-passenger and larger vehicles in the top 20 metro markets (Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Chicago, NYC, LA, Philly, DC, Detroit, Minneapolis, Nashville, etc.): 8-10 weeks — the top of the fleet books out first. For smaller sedans, Sprinters, and mid-size buses in secondary markets, 2-3 weeks out is usually workable. Call us — we can always tell you what's still available in your market.
Do you serve small towns and rural high schools?
Yes — we operate in every state and cover thousands of small-town high schools. If your school is more than an hour from a major metro, expect a small deadhead surcharge (the driver has to reposition to your area), but pricing is transparent and included in your quote upfront. We've moved homecoming groups in towns of every size from 1,500 people to 5 million.
No drunk teens driving. No scattered Ubers. No parent 2am wake-ups.

The problems every homecoming parent worries about — solved.

The stats every homecoming season: teen drivers, unfamiliar routes at night, half-full rideshares splitting the group across 6 cars. A licensed CDL chauffeur eliminates the whole risk category. Parents get one text with the driver's cell, live GPS on the vehicle if they want it, and a bus that will not move without everyone on board.

Real Homecoming Nights. Real Friend Groups.

Our daughter's homecoming was flawless
★★★★★
“My daughter and 22 of her friends booked a party bus for their senior homecoming. Pickup at our house was 10 minutes early, the driver was in a suit, and he had a written itinerary with every parent's cell. Bus stayed with them from the football game through the dance and back home by 1am. Every parent in the group thanked me for organizing it — nobody had to drive.”
— Jennifer M., Nashville, TN
20 of us pitched in and it was cheaper than Ubers
★★★★★
“Split 20 ways, our 20-passenger party bus was $95 each for the whole night. We priced Ubers for the same route with the same group and it would've been $180 per person — plus we'd have been in 5 different cars, half of us showing up late to the dance. Way better as a bus.”
— Marcus T., Atlanta, GA
Safe ride home was the whole reason we booked
★★★★★
“I was nervous letting our son go to homecoming his junior year — new drivers, late night, unfamiliar area. The party bus was the peace of mind. Driver's cell on my phone, GPS tracking on the vehicle, and he brought the whole group home at 12:30am. Worth every dollar.”
— Lisa K., Detroit suburbs, MI
College homecoming weekend — perfect setup
★★★★★
“Booked a 40-passenger mini-coach for our college alumni homecoming weekend — 35 of us in for the game and the after-party. Driver hit every hotel pickup, took us to the tailgate, waited for the game, took us to dinner and the alumni bar crawl. Nobody was arguing about Ubers at 1am. Best call I made all weekend.”
— Ryan D., Ann Arbor, MI
