About Discovering Stark, New Hampshire: A Journey in an 18-Passenger Mini Bus

In the heart of New Hampshire lies the quaint town of Stark, a place that perfectly encapsulates the charm and allure of rural New England.

Exploring this picturesque town in an 18-passenger mini bus offers a unique perspective on its local treasures and historical landmarks.

Our journey begins at the iconic Stark Covered Bridge, a historic wooden bridge that has stood since 1862.

The bridge's rustic charm is a fitting introduction to the town's rich history.

As you cross over the Upper Ammonoosuc River, you can imagine how life was for those who traveled this path many generations ago.

From there, your mini bus will take you to Percy Peaks, twin mountains that provide breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.

These peaks are not only popular among hikers but also serve as an important natural landmark for locals.

A short hike up these mountains is sure to reward you with panoramic vistas and unforgettable memories.

Next stop is Christine Lake, a serene spot perfect for picnicking, boating or simply enjoying the tranquility.

With its crystal-clear waters reflecting lush greenery and clear blue skies, it’s no wonder why it’s considered one of Stark's hidden gems.

After soaking in nature’s splendor, it's time to delve into Stark's history at The Fort at No.

4 Living History Museum located just outside town.

This open-air museum recreates life during colonial times through interactive exhibits and reenactments – a must-visit for history buffs!

Now that we’ve worked up an appetite exploring all day, it’s time to sample some local cuisine.

The Apple Barrel Country Store & Cafe is a favorite among locals and visitors alike for their hearty sandwiches and homemade pies – try their famous apple pie!

For dinner options, head over to Grandma's Kitchen in nearby Whitefield where they serve classic American comfort food with a side of warm hospitality.

As the sun sets, Stark’s nightlife comes alive.

The Stark House Tavern is a popular local haunt offering great food, craft beers and live music in a cozy, rustic setting.

It’s the perfect place to unwind after an adventurous day, sharing stories and laughs with locals.

Stark may not have large, bustling universities or institutes but it does have the White Mountains Regional High School which plays a pivotal role in the community.

The school's sports events are often town-wide affairs drawing in crowds cheering for their home team – an experience worth joining if you happen to be around.

Of course, no visit to Stark would be complete without paying tribute at its World War II Memorial.

Located near the town hall, this monument honors local heroes who served during the war.

It's a poignant reminder of Stark's contribution to national history.

Lastly, we recommend taking your mini bus down Route 110 for a scenic drive through Stark Village.

This route offers views of historic homes and farms that paint a picture of rural New England life – a fitting end.

Common Questions

Everything you’d want to know before you book.

Can I bring catering or food on the bus?
Drinks yes. Hot food is generally discouraged because of cleanup, but cold catering (charcuterie, sandwich platters, cake) is fine. There is a $150–$250 cleaning fee if food spills are excessive.
Do buses have restrooms?
Some larger buses (35-passenger and up) have onboard restrooms. Smaller party buses do not — the driver schedules planned restroom stops every 90–120 minutes on long trips. The quote indicates whether your assigned vehicle has one.
Can the bus be decorated for our event?
Yes — clings, balloons, removable banners are all welcome. Anything that uses adhesive on the interior (tape, glue) is not allowed because it damages the wraps. Bring your decor 30 minutes before pickup so the driver can help set up.
What is the policy on damages or spills?
A pre-trip walkthrough documents existing condition. After the trip, normal wear is on us; damage beyond that (tears, broken fixtures, biohazard cleanup) bills at cost. Most bookings come with a $200–$500 refundable damage hold on the deposit.
Will the same driver handle a multi-day trip?
For trips under 10 hours/day, yes. Federal Hours of Service rules cap drivers at 10 hours of driving per duty cycle, so multi-day trips with long driving legs may include a relief driver — included in the quoted rate at no extra cost to you.
Do you have liability insurance for events?
Yes. Every operator carries $1.5M–$5M in commercial auto liability. Certificates of Insurance (COIs) for venues, employer events, or weddings can be issued before pickup — request one when you book and we will email it within 24 hours.
Climate-controlled · USB-equipped
